Kansas Heart Foundation/A Gift For the Heart
A Gift For the Heart
Many of us know someone who has suffered from some form of heart disease. Every day, people struggle to cope with cardiovascular disease, and unfortunately, people die every day from those diseases. On average in the United States, one person dies from heart disease every second. The mortality rate from heart disease in Kansas and Missouri is higher than most states in the U.S. If you would like to make a difference in the fight against cardiovascular disease, please consider donating to the Kansas City Heart Foundation.
The Kansas City Heart Foundation is a non-profit organization and relies completely on contributions from private individuals and from the pharmaceutical and medical device companies that initiate various studies. The foundation also receives grants from non-profit foundations, such as the Research Foundation based at Research Medical Center. These contributions support the studies and programs that further the prevention and treatment of heart disease:
- Clinical cardiovascular studies, which result in lower mortality rates, improved quality of life for patients and a more hopeful prognosis
- Educational programs for children and families in the Kansas City area
- Continuing education for physicians, nurses and clinical staff in Kansas and Missouri to benefit patient care
- Opportunities for patients to participate in a wide range of studies and receive the most advance cardiac care options
Making a cash donation is a thoughtful way to honor the memory of a friend or loved one, and your gift may help to save a life in the future. Memorial gifts are the most common, and the family of the deceased will receive a tasteful card letting them know about the gift. You may also ask that your gift be put to specific use, such as “Your Healthy Heart” program or a particular study.
